New Open Window Design by Richard Petersen allows maximum air intake. Is wieghted to close when the wind blows it shut. No rain leeks, since it is inside the exterior gutter.

Structural engineer Roger Harley's Styrofoam/Straw Bale House (above and below) and garden walls were designed with a combination of straw bales and styrofoam walls. Both are coated with stucco or sheetrock and painted. The ceiling is lined with hand-died wooden beams, carefully selected, and there are fire sprinklers installed. They thikc walls are built to withstand the climate temepatures of Sonoma Valley.
